7 Must-Have Travel Essentials

With limited space or baggage allowance, it’s normal to feel a little pressure to get it right. After all, no one wants to get to the other side of the world and realize that they’ve left something essential behind.

Travel Insurance

No one wants to be stranded abroad, injured with sky-high medical bills or stuck at home because their holiday has been completely cancelled – discover the latest advice on holiday cancellation rights using Creditfix – and this is why travel insurance is so important. Whether you’re heading to the Maldives for an all-inclusive holiday or you’re backpacking across Asia for three months, having the right insurance in place could prevent a minor holiday inconvenience from transforming into a major holiday disaster. Ensure your policy covers you for travel mishaps and for medical issues too!

Adapters

From cameras to phones and all your other tech, avoid the extortionate airport prices and purchase adapters before you travel. Once you have them, pack them straight away so you don’t forget them.

Refillable Water Bottle

No one wants to constantly buy bottled water whilst they’re on holiday. It’s expensive and bad for the environment. Bring along your own water bottle, that way you can fill it up each morning before you head out for the day. If you’re worried about the water quality then purchase some sterilising tablets.

Day Pack

Whether you are shopping or on a day trip, you’ll want to be able to leave your luggage behind and travel light. Having an appropriate day pack allows you to carry your own water, medication, sweaters, camera and food so you’re prepared for anything.

Headphones

Travelling is stressful and at times, intense. So, it’s good to be able to shut everything off for a while and hear your own thoughts. That’s where headphones come in. Listening to some music or a podcast will help you relax and help kill time between flights.

Medication

Having a supply of painkillers, sunblock, antihistamines and diarrhea medicines is something you should never travel without. Be sure to pack this in your carry-on luggage. You don’t want to have to endure stomach ailments while on a plane. Lip balm is another great addition in case you get dehydrated.

A Sleep Kit

Long-haul flights are difficult, uncomfortable, dull and boring. But if you come prepared with your very own sleep kit, at least you’re more likely to get some shut-eye. Pack an eye mask, travel pillow and earplugs.
