About

“If you think you are too small to make a difference, you haven’t spent a night with a mosquito,” African Proverb.

green living blogI grew up in Africa, on the shores of the Indian Ocean, under the stars of the Southern Hemisphere. My childhood was spent barefoot with my toes in the deeply rich, red soil or running my fingers through the silken white beach sands. But the thing I liked most was the animals; they were everywhere!

Monkeys visited my garden every day. There were great whites in the ocean, hippos in the river and an owl which lived at the bottom of the garden and once spent an entire evening on the back of a chair in the living room before swooping soundlessly out of the door through which he had entered.

As I got older, things changed. Garbage littered the once-pristine beaches, droughts and floods green living blogcaused by climate change decimated crops and the great whites and hippos are hunted nearly to extinction. The owl was gone, although I can’t say where.

They say the opposite of love is evil, but in my experience its idleness. So I decided to get busy and help people to live a greener life that is in keeping with their own truths. Love, eat well, respect nature and visit her often, love animals of all sizes and be profoundly kind to each other. These are the tenants I live by.

People really want to be good and green and kind, but sometimes they just need someone to remind them where, how and why. That’s why I started greenmoxie.com.
